BRIDGEWATER, Va. – With the start of the 2012-13 sports season coming in less than a month, the Bridgewater College Athletic Media Relations department has launched a re-designed website at BridgewaterEagles.com which will officially launch on Wednesday, August 1.
The new website, launched in cooperation with Baltimore based PrestoSports, Inc., will have a variety of new features aimed at creating a better fan experience while maintaining cutting edge technology and up-to-the-minute information.
Fans will immediately notice the new background and tabbed layout for the website. The top stories tab will show fans the five most recent sports stories, while the More Headlines tab will feature an additional 10 releases. In the video window, fans will be greeted by an enlarged video area for viewing the wide variety of BridgewaterEagles.com highlights and features. Finally, one brand-new feature has been integrated into the website with immediate access to up-to-date Old Dominion Athletic Conference standings for each sport in the Standings tab.
Aside from the tabbed layout, the calendar window will also remain for quick daily access to sports schedules. Along with the calendar window, fans can now view an enlarged composite schedule for all 23 Bridgewater College athletic teams.
With the addition of new ways of getting information on your favorite Bridgewater sports teams, fans now can customize their computers and mobile devices in the Fan Center. In the Fan Center, fans will have access to desktop wallpapers, travel information with direct smartphone GPS information at the touch of a link and iPhone backgrounds. Fans will also have access to a number of how-to videos for how to maximize technology to keep up with your favorite Eagles’ sports teams.
Along with up-to-date information for each of the sports teams, the Hall of Fame website has also undergone a redesign with more information and video of each inductee. Each member of the Hall of Fame now has their own bio, a sketch from their plaque in the Hall of Fame section of Nininger Hall, and a link to video from their respective induction ceremony.
A new portion of the website will also be launched to keep fans updated on Bridgewater's athletic teams and it's student-athletes from a new angle. Associate Director of Athletic Media Relations Steve Cox will be integrating a new blog feature called Cox's Corner to provide in-depth analysis of Bridgewater's sports teams.
Finally, the Eagles will once again partner with New Media Television Networks for the 2012-13 athletic season to provide access to live video webcasts from various on-campus athletic events.
