CULPEPER, Va. - Three Bridgewater riders were off to an early start on the road to a busy fall semester as they rode on Friday through Sunday at the Culpeper horse show . Seniors Caitlin Hewitt and Lindsay Ferguson were riding their own horses and Juliana Peterson rode Bridgewater College's Traveler.
Hewitt moved up to the big ring with her young horse Rio's Dancer. As she rode in the Low Amateur-Owner Division for the first time she gained confidence as the division continued and place second and third on the second day. She also rode in the $5000.00 Hunter Derby for the first time.
Ferguson rode her beautiful chestnut gelding, Amulet, to Reserve Champion of the Modified Children/Adult hunter division held on Friday and continued her winning ways to be Reserve Champion of the Adult Hunter Division which was completed on Sunday.
Peterson, a sophomore, warmed up well placing 3rd and 5th in the Adult Equitation Division on the first day and then won both the flat and the over fences classes on the second day to finish in Reserve Champion for the Adult Equitation Division.
The three riders were accompanied by coaches Sarah Irvine and Beth Boteler.
