LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College Riders finished fourth Saturday in the first IHSA show of the season hosted by Lynchburg College and Randolph College.
A total of 11 Colleges and Universities met for the first IHSA show in what ended up being a very closely contested day. The points were spread all over the board and Bridgewater College ended up in fourth place. However the Eagles were only four points behind first place James Madison University as the JMU riders won their first Championship in three years. With only four points separating JMU and Bridgewater the BC coaches feel they have a really good, young team with the possibility of gaining strength as the season continues.
The following riders placed in the competition.
Shelby Goodman finished fifth in the Open Fences
Freshman Taylor Rose finished second in the Open Equitation on the Flat.
Freshmen Kayla Deyarmin placed sixth and freshman Taylor Rose placed second in Intermediate Fences.
Jamie Robinson pinned first and Lindsey Goode finished sixth in the Novice Fences Division
Sarah Black placed fourth in the Intermediate Flat.
Novice Flat found both Jamie Robinson and Lindsey Goode finishing in third place in their sections.
Geordon Duncan finished second in Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter and Allyson Gallamore placed second in Walk-Trot.
Bridgewater College hosts the next IHSA competition on Oct. 29th at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center. The show begins at 1:00 p.m.
