Riders Win Show, Move Into First Place In Region Standings

WEYERS CAVE, Va. - Bridgewater College edged Hollins for the championship Saturday at the IHSA show hosted at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center, With the victory, the Eagles moved into first place in the regional standings.

The Eagles now hold a 10-point lead over Lynchburg College and a 13-point lead over Hollins in the regional standings.

Taylor Rose paced the Eagles efforts Saturday as she earned high-point rider honors by winning both of her classes - Intermediate Over Fences and Open on the Flat.

Shelby Goodman and Chelsea Hames both won their sections of Open Fences.

In the novice classes, Emmy Rhodes placed second in the Novice fences and Tara Deckel won her Novice over Fences class.

Jamie Robinson placed fourth in Intermediate Flat and Sarah Black placed third in her section of Intermediate Flat.

Julianna Peterson won in Novice on the Flat and Katie Leonard placed third in Novice on the Flat.

Ryan Carroll placed second in Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter and Corrie Fittz finished third in Walk-Trot.
