Eagles Tie For 2nd At Hollins To Maintain Regional Lead; Sunday Show At U.Va. Postponed

ROANOKE, Va. - Bridgewater College tied for second place Saturday at the Hollins IHSA and maintained its lead over Sweet Briar in the regional standings.

Hollins won Saturday's show with 42 points while Bridgewater and Sweet Briar tied for second with 36 points.

Bridgewater now has 237 points in the regional standings with Sweet Briar second with 232. Hollins is third with 221 points.

In the open classes Saturday, Shelby Goodman was third Over Fences and Emily Manos placed fifth. Dana Paulding placed third On the Flat.

Kayla Deyarmin placed first in Intermediate Over Fences.Sarah Black finished first in Intermediate on the Flat on Katie Leonard placed second. Black qualified for the regional show with her effort on Saturday.

In Novice Over Fences, Emmy Rhode took first place and Caitlin Palmer finished third. Juliana Peterson placed second in Novice on the Flat.

In Walk-Trot-Canter, Stacy Beam placed third and Geordan Duncam took fourth.

Sunday's IHSA show at the University of Virginia has been postponed and will be held next Saturday.
