Clark Announces Selections to Senior Leadership Committee

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - On Friday morning, Bridgewater Eagles head football coach Michael Clark announced the eight members of the Senior Leadership Advisory Committee for the 2012 football season.

Four defensive players highlight the list to go along with four offensive standouts.

Junior quarterback Willie Logan is joined by junior wide receivers Cassidy Burns and Shawn Lee on the offensive side of the ball. Sophomore running back Jacob Wright rounds out the offensive selections.

Three seniors lead the committee on the defensive side of the ball in defensive tackles Danny Grogg and Joel Francis and linebacker Salem Nganga.

Sophomore defensive back Lucas Elliott rounds out the selections to the group which will work directly with the coaching staff on a variety of team related matters.

"This inventory that I ask the players to fill out for me is not a popularity contest, and I think it allows our group to identify the kids in the locker room that people want to be led by and want speaking for them," said head coach Michael Clark. "Although real leadership can come from every player in our group, I appreciate the voice and input this group can provide for our team. We have big challenges ahead of us in 2012."

The group was selected thru voting completed by all members of the senior class. The top point achievers are asked to sit in on the group.

Bridgewater begins the 2012 campaign on Saturday, September 1 when the Eagles travel to suburban Pittsburgh to do battle with St. Vincent. The opening kick is slated for 1 p.m.
