Football Set to Host 11th Annual Pigskin Preview

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Bridgewater College head football coach Michael Clark and the rest of the Eagles are set to kick off the 2012 season in the same way they have since 2002 when the squad hosts the 11th Annual Pigskin Preview on Saturday, August 18 on the Bridgewater campus.

This year's preview will see a new feature added to the mix as Clark encourages a new generation of Eagles fans to join in on the events. Kids 14 and under are encouraged to come join the 2012 edition of the Eagles on the game field for the team flex and warm-up portion of practice and can then participate in the first practice drill period of the day at the position of their choice.

"We've added a new feature this year that will hopefully be interactive for the group as a whole and gives kids an opportunity to be a part of the team for the day," said Clark. "It also provides a nice opportunity for our guys to meet some new faces and make a positive impression on a younger member of the community."

To take part in the warmup and drill period, kids must register when they check in with their families at lunch. It is strongly encouraged that each youngster wears a Bridgewater College shirt or the Crimson and Vegas Gold colors.

This year's preview starts off with a high noon picnic lunch near the Kline Campus Center with the players and coaches. Another addition for the 2012 event will be have coaches hosting tables during the lunch session to meet and mingle with the BC faithful.

Following lunch, attendees will have the opportunity to sit down with Coach Clark in Cole Hall for an informative Q&A session, before heading to individual meetings.

The day wraps up with an open practice for fans and families to attend on the playing field at Jopson Field.
