Frye Named Field Hockey Assistant

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Bridgewater College head field hockey coach Allyson Kenyon has announced the hiring of Tiffany Frye to the position of assistant field hockey coach for the 2012 season.

Frye comes to Bridgewater after a stellar career as the goalkeeper for Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Lynchburg College.

During her four-year career with the Hornets, Frye competed on four ODAC championship winning squads, and led the ODAC in goals against average and save percentage during her junior and senior seasons. Frye was also a two-time All-ODAC selection and earned All-South region second team honors as a senior.

Frye's 0.62 career goals against average sits atop the career record books for the Hornets while she ranks in the top 10 in four other career categories.

Aside from her on the field acumen, Frye served as a Big Brothers, Big Sisters program mentor and volunteered for the Salvation Army and at numerous field hockey camps.

Frye graduated from Lynchburg College in May with a bachelor's degree in sport management.

Kenyon, Frye and the rest of the Eagles report for fall practice on Monday, August 20 to begin preparations for their 2012 season opener on Saturday, September 1 against DePauw. The season opener will be played on the Lynchburg College campus with a start time of 11:00 a.m.
