CHANDLER, Ariz. – Junior field hockey player Colleen Dickson was recognized for her outstanding achievements in the classroom by being named to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction list in a release by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

To earn a spot on the list, student-athletes must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2012 season. Dickson is an international relations major.

A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Dickson was a third team All-ODAC selection in 2012 after posting seven goals and five assists on the year.

On Tuesday, Dickson was recognized along with eight other Bridgewater players on the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA All-Academic team for their classroom efforts during the season.

Bridgewater wrapped up the 2012 season with an 11-8 overall record. Bridgewater's 11 wins is the highest wins total for the program since the Eagles tallied 11 wins in 1998. The Eagles also reached the semifinal round of the conference tournament.
