Hampden-Sydney Blanks Bridgewater In Men's Soccer Action, 4-0
BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Hampden-Sydney College scored three first half goals Wednesday en route to a 4-0 victory over the Bridgewater College Eagles in ODAC men's soccer action.
Bryan Hughes put the Tigers on the board at the 7:57 mark with a goal off an assist from Nick DeProspero. Brett Chonko and Bryan Wharton added first-half goals to give Hampden-Sydney a 3-0 lead at the break.
Matt Swaney scored for the Tigers early in the second half, to complete the scoring.
Hampden-Sydney held a 19-5 edge in shots and a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Jack Bottoms and Zak Kruger each finished with a pair of saves for the Eagles.
Bridgewater is now 1-10 overall and 0-4 in the ODAC. The Tigers improve to 8-2, 3-1 in the conference.
