Thomas Lands Spot In Canadian Soccer League

Former Bridgewater College standout Chris Thomas (2009) recently signed a professional contract with the York Region Shooters of the Canadian Soccer League.

The league is currently underway and will continue play through October. The Shooters have three wins against just one loss and five ties early in the season.

Thomas signed with the Shooters shortly after the start of the season but has made an immediate impact with two goals and an assist.

"I'm just excited to have the opportunity to get out there and continue doing what I love," Thomas said. "So far the guys have all been great and we've put together a really strong team for the 2012 season."

While at Bridgewater, Thomas garnered numerous accolades including All-ODAC, All-Region and Academic All-American honors. He still holds BC records for goals and assists in a career. Following his outstanding career with the Eagles, Thomas trained and played with some Premier Development League and United Soccer League teams before finding his way to the CSL.
