Matt O'Toole will begin his first season as the new head men's soccer coach for the 2009 season.
O'Toole comes to Bridgewater following five years as an
assistant coach at the University of Richmond. In 2006, the
Richmond program finished third in the Atlantic 10 Conference and
advanced to the semifinals of the A-10 Conference tournament.
Prior to his stay in Richmond, O'Toole began his coaching career as
an assistant coach at Wheaton College. In his two years as an
assistant, Wheaton posted an overall record of 34-9-2. The team won
the NEWMAC championship in 2003 and advanced to the semifinals at
the NCAA Division III tournament.
O'Toole was a four-year starter at Providence College and was an
All-New England League all-star in 2000. He graduated from
Providence with a BS in marketing.
O'Toole played five years in the United Soccer League and trained
with three Major League Soccer clubs. He also trained with the
Bohemians FC of the Eircom Premier League of Ireland.
O'Toole resides in Bridgewater with his wife Kate.
Charles Metz begins his first season with Eagles men's soccer program in 2009.
Metz played four years of collegiate soccer, two at Potomac State and two at Eastern Mennonite University.
He has served two internships with the Shenandoah Valley United Soccer Club and coached two seasons with Shenandoah Valley United, one with U-15 boys college showcase team and one with U-16 boys premier team. Metz holds a NSCAA Advanced Regional Coaching Diploma.
Metz graduated from Eastern Mennonite in 2009 with a bachelor of
science degree in sports and recreation leadership with a minor in
business administration and a minor in coaching.
