Men’s Tennis Upended by Washington and Lee in ODAC Championship Match

ASHLAND, Va. – In the 2012 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Tennis championship match, the top-seeded Generals of Washington and Lee swept doubles play and picked up a pair of victories in singles action as they defeated the second-seeded Bridgewater Eagles by a 5-0 score.

At number one doubles, the tandem of Evan Stack and Brandon Larsen dropped an 8-4 decision to open the match before the duo of Christian Lynn and Peter Hawkins fell by an 8-3 tally at number two.

Senior Brent Floyd teamed up with freshman Mike Cable at number three and fell by an 8-4 tally to hand the Generals a 3-0 lead heading to singles action.

Washington and Lee drew to within a win of the match victory when Lynn fell by a 6-2, 6-1 tally at number five.

The Generals closed the match out at number six as Eagles sophomore Sam Churchill fell by a 6-2, 6-4 tally to end Bridgewater's tournament run.

The matches at number one, two, three and four singles all went unfinished.

Bridgewater wraps up the season with a 13-6 overall record.
