Men's Tennis Opens Fall Season At Shenandoah Invitational

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's tennis team opened its fall season this weekend at the Shenandoah University Fall Invitational.

The Eagles competed this weekend along with Shenandoah, Christopher Newport and Franklin & Marshall. Competition was staged in eight singles flights and four doubles flights.

Mike Cable had a solid day in singles play with a 2-0 record in flight seven and a 0-1 mark in flight eight.

In the top flight, Brandon Larsen finished 1-2 while Kyle Hartfield finished with a 1-2 mark in the second flight.

Sam Churchill posted a 0-1 record at No. 3 and teammate Christian Lynn was 0-2 at No.3. At No. 4 singles Churchill was 0-2 and freshman Thomas Rishcoff was 0-1.

In the fifth flight, Drew Hubble was 1-0 and Rishcoff was 0-2. At No. 6 Robert Belton was 1-0 and Hubble finished 0-2.

Belton also posted a 0-1 mark at No. 7. At No. 8, Aaron Snook was 1-0 and Josh Bollinger was 0-1.

Churchill and Rishcoff finished with the best doubles record as they won two of their three matches at No. 3 doubles.

At. No. 1 doubles, Cable and Lynn were 1-2 while Larsen and Hartfield posted a 1-2 mark at No. 2.

Hubble and Belton rounded out the scoring with a 1-2 record at in the fourth flight.
