W&L Defeats Eagles, 7-2

BRIDGEWATER - Washington and Lee defeated Bridgewater College 7-2 Monday afternoon in ODAC men's tennis action played on Mapp Courts.

The Generals swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead, winning all three contests by an 8-5 margin.

Bridgewater picked up points in two of the six singles matches, winning at the No. 1 and No. 5 flights.

Bridgewater's Joe Dillenbeck took the point at No. 1 with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Mitchell Thomas. Nathaniel Horner was victorious at No. 5, stopping Noah Tapp 6-4, 6-2.

The Generals won the remaining four singles matches in straight sets. At No. 2 singles, Thomas Harmon downed Josh Rodgers 6-1, 6-2. Mac Zheng took a 6-3, 6-0 win over Emmett Johnson at the No. 3 slot. Freddie Roberts had a close match at No. 4, fallling 7-6, 6-3 to Charlie Kittredge. W&L's Michael Lukas turned back Kris Stokes 6-4, 6-1 to win at the No. 6 slot.
