Eugene Cummings Wins Long And Triple Jumps; Beale First In Hurdles At Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Eugene Cummings placed first in both the long and triple jumps and Daryus Beale placed first in the 60 meter hurdles to lead the Bridgewater men's track and field team Friday at the Ursinus Indoor Invitational.

Cummings placed first in the long jump with a best of 21 feet, 11.5 inches and then jumped 44 feet, 4 inches to win the triple jump. Leigh Bradley took fourth in the triple jump at 41 feet, 4.25 inches.

Beale won the hurdles with a time of 8.67 seconds and Ben Martindell took fourth with a time of 9.06 seconds.

The Eagles A squad won the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:34.75. Running for the Eagles were Ryan Speray, Tim Miller, Abe Rittenhouse and Andrew Leishman.

Bridgewater placed four runners in the Top 10 in the mile, led by Speray in second place with a time of 4:27.74. Luke Sohl ran 4:32.63 to place fifth followed by Abe Rittenhouse with a time of 4:35.90 in eighth place and Tim Miller in ninth with a time of 4:40.77.

The Eagles also had a pair of strong runs in the 800. Tim Wisniewski finished second with a time of 2:01.85 and Paul Johnson placed eighth with a time of 2:03.39.

In the 60 meters Jacob Wright placed fourth with a time of 7.19 seconds. Orlando Bryant had the eighth fastest time at 7.23 seconds.
