Flynn Named Region Assistant Coach of the Year

NEW ORLEANS – In a release by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Bridgewater College men's assistant track and field coach Brian Flynn received Assistant Coach of the Year for the South/Southeast region.

This season is Coach Flynn's third season coaching middle-and long-distance events. He helped guide the program to a runner-up finish at the ODAC Championships in Liberty with four titles in the distance/mid-distance events, including the 800 meter run, mile run, 3,000 meter run, and the distance medley relay.

Flynn's distance runners set school records in the 500, 800, 1000, 3000 and ran the second fastest time in school history in the 4x400 meter relay.

At the ODAC Championships, his runners earned 55 out of the team's 124 points to sit in second place behind Lynchburg College.
