Cross Country Teams Picked Third In ODAC Preseason Polls

FOREST, Va. - Both the Bridgewater men's and women's cross country teams were picked third in the ODAC Coaches' Preseason Polls released Monday.

In the women's poll, the Eagles were picked to finish behind Washington and Lee and Lynchburg. W&L received seven first-place votes while Lynchburg and BC each received one first-place vote.

The Eagles return three All-ODAC performers to their roster. Olivia Mills and Molly Smith earned first-team all-conference honors a year ago while Katie Notarangelo received second-team recognition.

The Bridgewater men were also picked third in the preseason poll, trailing Lynchburg and Guilford. Lynchburg received nine first-place while Virginia Wesleyan, tied for third in the poll with the Eagles, received the other first-place vote.

Bridgewater returns six of its top seven runners from a year ago.

The Bridgewater College cross country teams open their season on Thursday when they travel to Bedford, Va., for the Hornet Challenge hosted by Lynchburg College.
