Clague and Dillon’s Pair of Individual Victories Leads Swim Team to Perfect Day in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Lauren Clague and freshman Danielle Dillon took home victories in two events each as the Bridgewater Eagles to a pair of victories over host Greensboro and Guilford at Greensboro College.

Bridgewater defeated Greensboro by a tight 117-72 margin, while also taking down Guilford by a wider 138-55 gap.

BC was victorious in five of the nine individual events, while placing second in the 200 yard medley relay and taking home gold in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

Clague was victorious in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events, with a record-setting performance of 2:07.10 in the 200 yard event leading the way.

In the 1,000 yard freestyle event, the Eagles took home the top two spots with freshman Danielle Dillon winning by over a minute and a half over junior teammate Laura Aldstadt in a time of 11:42.78. The Roanoke, Va. native destroyed the school record in the event by 52 seconds, eclipsing Morgan Cordle's 12:34 performance. Dillon later took home gold in the 500 yard freestyle event with a record-setting time of 5:40.32.

Sophomore Amber Hoover took home a first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly event, in a time of 1:13.79, edging out sophomore teammate Simone Conyers. Hoover later finished in the runner-up spot in the 100 yard backstroke with a 1:15.77 finish.

Freshman Jeni Zeiler took home second place honors in the 400 Yard intermediate medley with a time of 5:27.79. Zeiler's time eclipsed the former school record in the event by 14 seconds. The Lutherville, Md. native also set the school record in the 100 yard breaststroke with a second-place finishing time of 1:17.25

Bridgewater is back in action on December 4 and 5 when the squad travels to Ashland, Va. for the Randolph-Macon Invitational.
