FOREST, Va. – On the heels of a record-setting meet against Greensboro College, Bridgewater College freshman swimmer Carrie Crowther earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swimmer of the Week honors.
Crowther (Burgess, Va./Northumberland) broke the 50 meter freestyle record with a time of 29.08 seconds. Later in the meet, the freshman broke her own 100 meter backstroke record by two seconds, touching the pad in a finishing time of 1:14.22.
The Burgess, Va. native also swam the lead leg of Bridgewater's record-setting 200 meter medley relay which touched the pad in a time of 2:18.07.
The honor is the first of the year for the Eagles and the first of Crowther's young career.
Bridgewater is back in action on November 19 and 20 when the squad travels to Randolph-Macon for the Randolph-Macon Invitational.
