BRIDGEWATER, Va. – In cooperation with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), the Bridgewater Eagles women's basketball team has launched an online donation website for the squad's upcoming Play4Kay (formerly WBCA PinkZone) game on February 14, 2012 against Virginia Wesleyan.
Fans are encouraged to donate prior to the Eagles' home finale against the Marlins. The team will also be selling special Play4Kay t-shirts in the lead up to the Play4Kay game. The cost of the t-shirt is $15 with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
As part of this year's national campaign, the WBCA has announced a goal of one million dollars for this year's Play4Kay game.
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, named for the former N.C. State women's basketball coach, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.
To date, the Fund has raised over $4.5M for cancer research. Due to our unique partnership with The V Foundation, we utilize their Scientific Advisory Board to ensure your donations support only the cancer research projects with the most potential. Thus, grant recipients funded by the Kay Yow Cancer Fund have remarkable standing within the scientific community.
To make a donation follow the "Play4Kay Website" link at the top of the page or click the "Play4Kay Website" link on the right side of the women's basketball webpage.
