Walker and Warring Tabbed to All-Conference Teams

FOREST, Va. – Freshman Andrea Walker earned first team honors, while fellow freshman Marin Warring was named to the third team as the pair of Bridgewater College women's golfers earned a spot on the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) all-conference teams, announced Tuesday by the league office.

Walker is Bridgewater's first selection to the first team in program history after posting a stellar freshman season for the Eagles. The Warsaw, Va. native posted an 84.9 average over the team's 13 regular season rounds of play. Walker's low-round of the season came at the Hollins Invitational when she carded a 78. The freshman also tallied a pair of top five finishes and a pair of top 10 efforts along the way.

Warring was named to the third team after a solid first season with the program. The Williamsburg, Va. native tallied an 87.2 average over her 13 regular season rounds of play. Warring fired her lowest round of the season with an 81 at the Randolph-Macon Invitational at the end of March. She also tallied a pair of top 10 finishes on the season.

Hollins University junior Elizabeth Cheng took home two major to highlight the first ODAC Women's Golf All-Conference Awards.  Cheng was named the inaugural ODAC Player of the Year and the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year.  Randolph-Macon's Leighann Albaugh was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, and Yellow Jackets newcomer Olivia Bowling received ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels. 

All of the awards were announced on Monday evening at the awards banquet that is held in conjunction with the ODAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships.
