Eagles Rally To Slip Past Ohio Wesleyan, 11-10

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater's Taylor Chamberlain scored the final two goals of Wednesday's lacrosse contest to lift the Eagles to an 11-10 victory over Ohio Wesleyan.

Ohio Wesleyan jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead, but the Eagles rallied to take the lead, 6-5, on a goal by Caitlin Costello with 3:03 left in the half.

The Bishops' Cate Bailey scored on a free position shot with 2:24 left in the half and the teams headed to the break tied at 6-6.

Goals by Meredith Wholley and Theresa Wolfgang gave the visitors an 8-6 lead before Bridgewater's Savannah Key scored on a free position shot, trimming the Bishops' lead to 8-7.

Wolfgang scored again for the Bishops, but two goals by the Eagles Megan Bach tied the score at 9-9 with 8:44 left.

A goal by Marlow Mavian put the Bishops back on top at the 8:44 mark, 10-9, but the Eagles defense held the visitors scoreless over the final eight minutes and the attack found the mark in the final three minutes of play.

Chamberlain tied the score at the 2:54 mark and then talled the game-winner with 1:42 remaining for the final 11-10 margin.

Bach and Chamberlain scored three goal each to lead the Bridgewater attack and Costello added a pair of goals.

Bridgewater's Caitlin Boles recorded seven saves in goal.

Bridgewater is now 3-1 on the season while Ohio Wesleyan drops to 0-3.
