MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Sophomore Taylor Chamberlain scored a game-high five goals and senior Megan Bach stuck four more shots in the back of the net as the Bridgewater Eagles women's lacrosse team took down SUNY-IT by a 16-3 score for their first victory of the season.
SUNY-IT took the early lead with the first goal of the game but the rest of the first half was all Bridgewater as the Eagles scored 10 unanswered goals to take a 10-1 lead into the locker room.
In the second half, Bridgewater extended its nine-goal halftime lead by outscoring SUNY-IT by a 6-2 score over the final 30 minute to secure the Eagles' first victory of the year with a 16-3 victory in Myrtle Beach.
Chamberlain paced the Bridgewater offense with a seven-point day as the sophomore tallied two helpers to go along with her five goals.
Bach netted four goals in the win, while freshman Jordyn Hutchins also tallied a multi-goal game with two tallies along the way.
Freshman Laura Reynolds tallied six saves to earn her first career victory as the Bridgewater netminder.
Bridgewater is back in action on Sunday when the Eagles go on the road to Greensboro. The opening draw with Greensboro is set for high noon.
