Eagles Defeat Randolph For Second Straight ODAC Victory

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College Eagles won their second straight conference game with a 6-1 victory Saturday over the Randolph College WildCats.

The Eagles took the lead early when Brittney Harris (Laurel, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) scored from close range off a pass from Sarah Taylor at the 2:14 mark.

Caroline Banks (Virginia Beach, Va./Bishop Sullivan Catholic) scored in the 20th minute with Taylor getting her second assist for a 2-0 Eagles lead.

Randolph got on the board on a goal by Tianna Strassner at the 27:06 mark, but the Eagles answered with a goal by Jacey Kelley (Road Newburg, Pa./Shippinburg) off an assist from Megan Groos (Linden, Va./Warren County) to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead at the half.

The Eagles added second half goals by Melanie Waters (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake Senior), Kelley and Sarah Conner (Eldersburg, Md./Century) to close out the 6-1 victory.

Bridgewater is now 4-6-1 overall and 3-2 in the ODAC. Randolph drops to 3-5-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the conference.
