BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College blanked Hollins University, 7-0, Saturday to run its winning streak to four in a row.
The Eagles jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with scored by Jacey Kelley (Road Newburg, Pa./Shippinburg) and Sarah Conner (Eldersburg, Md./Century) with assists on each goal going to Meghan Groos (Linden, Va./Warren County).
Abby Dehoff (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) added a goal at the 36:09 mark to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead at the half.
Brittney Harris (Laurel, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) made it 4-0 with an early second-half goal off a corner from Sarah Taylor (Chesterfield, Va./James River Brittany Johnson (Boones Mill, Va./Franklin County) scored off an assist from Taylor at the 57:20 mark to give the Eagles a 5-0 lead.
Melanie Waters (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake Senior) scored Bridgewater's final two goals to complete the 7-0 victory.
Cari Hensley (Danville, Va./George Washington) and Lindsey McDole (Roanoke, Va./Roanoke Catholic) combined to record the shutout. Hensley had one save in the first half and McDole recorded two saves in the final 45 minutes.
The Eagles are now 6-6-1 overall and 5-2 in the ODAC. Hollins drops to 4-8 overall and 1-6 in the ODAC.
