Former BC Standout Named Women's Soccer Head Coach At McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Former Bridgewater College standout Sandy Lagana has been named the new head coach for the women's soccer program at McDaniel College.

Lagana was introduced as the program's new head coach by McDaniel's Director of Athletics Paul Moyer on Wednesday.

Lagana, Class of 2004, played soccer and lacrosse while at Bridgewater.

As a senior, she earned All-ODAC honors after leading the Eagles with 11 goals and 22 points. She was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III second team. Her 62 career points still ranks third all-time in BC program history.

On the lacrosse field, she was an honorable mention All-ODAC selection in 2002 after registering 16 goals and 18 assists. She was also named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll in 2003. For her lacrosse career, she scored 37 goals and handed out 48 assists.

Since 2007, Lagana has served as the head women's soccer coach at Ferrum College.
