Women’s Tennis Opens Season with ITA Regional Championships

FREDERICKSBURG, Va.- The Bridgewater Eagles women’s tennis team got its fall season started today at the Wilson ITA Women’s Tennis Championships hosted by the University of Mary Washington.

Freshman Amanda Gorby was BC’s lone winner on the day with a 2-6, 6-3, 10-5 victory over Liz Killion in the Blue 5 Singles section.

At Blue 2 Singles, freshman Olivia Stone fell in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3 in her career opener, while classmate Miranda Donovan also dropped her first career match by a 2-6, 6-1, 10-4 score.

BC sophomore Ally McConaughy fell to Mary Kate Wilson, by identical 6-1, 6-1 scores.

Finally, junior Morgan McGhee fell in a tight two set match by 6-4, 6-3 scores.

BC will wrap up the ITA Regional Championship tomorrow at UMW starting at 8:00 a.m.
