Mathias Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

INDIANAPOLIS – Former Bridgewater College women's tennis player Megan Mathias was awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship to further her studies. Mathias, a May 2010 graduate, was one of 58 recipients of the scholarship which awards $7,500 for the student to pursue graduate work in their field of choice.

Mathias is starting her graduate work at North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in the fall.

The Moorefield, W.Va native posted an 11-11 record at number one singles and an 9-10 mark in singles play. The senior was also named to the second team CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District team after posting a 3.96 GPA during her four years at Bridgewater.

Mathias graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Equine Studies.
