Women’s Tennis Falls to Methodist, 9-0

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – On the final day of the PTR Spring TennisFest, the Bridgewater Eagles women's tennis team fell by a 9-0 score to Methodist, snapping their two-match winning streak.

Bridgewater fell behind after doubles action, dropping all three matches. The tandem of Katy Bergey and Katie Gordon dropped an 8-5 decision at number one, while the duo of Brittany Wilson and Olivia Stone fell 8-2 at number two.

The tandem of Ally McConaughy and Emily Schweitzer fell by an 8-5 margin to drop the final doubles match up before things turned to singles.

Bergey fell by a 6-3, 6-1 tally in top flight singles, while Gordon dropped a 7-5, 2-6, 10-6 margin in a tight affair at number two to hand Methodist the match.

Wilson fell by a 6-0, 6-1 gap at number three singles, while Schweitzer fell by an identical 6-0, 6-1 score at number four.

Finally, Stone fell by a 6-1, 6-0 margin at number five while McConaughy fell by a 6-1, 6-3 gap at number six to wrap up the match with the Eagles falling by a 9-0 score.

Bridgewater is back in action on Wednesday, March 14 when the Eagles travel to Randolph-Macon for a 3:30 p.m. matchup with the Yellow Jackets.
