Eagles Place Six Players On All-ODAC Women's Tennis Team

FOREST, Va.  – Six Bridgewater College players earned recognition on the ODAC Women's Tennis all-conference team released Thursday.

In singles play, Katie Gordon and Miranda Donovan were named to the all-conference second team. Gordon played No. 1 singles the entire season and finished the year with a 16-2 overall record and a 9-2 mark in conference play. Donovan was named to the All-ODAC second team at No. 6 singles. She posted a 14-4 overall record and a 10-1 mark in conference play.

Jessie Mitchell at No. 4 singles and Olivia Stone at No. 5 were named to the All-ODAC third team. Mitchell finished the year with a 14-4 overall record and a 7-4 mark in conference play. Stone was 13-6 overall and 8-3 in ODAC play.

The Eagles placed two doubles teams on the All-ODAC second team.

Gordon and Marla O'Bryan earned a spot at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 overall record and a 6-1 mark in conference play. Donovan and Rita Murphy earned the nod at No. 3 doubles with an 11-3 overall record and a 10-1 record in conference matches.

Washington and Lee's Sonja Meighan was named Player of the Year and teammate Patricia Kirkland was the ODAC/Farm Bureau Student-Athlete of the Year. Roanoke's Justin Fainter was named Coach of the Year and Virginia Wesleyan's Sara Yousif was the Rookie of the Year.
