Eagles Defeat Guilford In Four Sets In ODAC Volleyball Action

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Bridgewater College defeated Guilford College in four sets Tuesday evening in ODAC volleyball action. The Eagles won by scores of 25-15, 24-26, 25-17, 25-15.

Katie Baker paced the Eagles attack with 13 kills and six blocks. "We received another outstanding effort from Katie," Bridgewater head coach Greg Spector said. "She has been our most consistent player at the net. She worked hard tonight and made herself consistently available at the net."

Mara Hogan also had a big night for the Eagles with 10 kills and 13 digs. "Mara had her coming out tonight," Spector added. "It was great to see her make that kind of contribution.

Tricia Davis finished with 36 assists and 10 digs for the Eagles. "Tricia continues to play well as she had another double-doube for us tonight," said Spector.

Casey O'Leary added 19 digs and Candice Guy 13 digs for Bridgewater.

Brittany Freeman paced the Quakers with 16 kills.

Bridgewater is now 9-11 overall and 6-2 in the ODAC. Guilford falls to 7-12 overall and 1-5 in the ODAC.

The Eagles return to action Friday afternoon when they host Christopher Newport at 4:00 p.m.

"Friday should be a terrific match," added Spector. "The Captains have a young team and we have a young team. We'll see how it plays out."
