Volleyball Program Set To Recognize Seniors Wednesday Prior To EMU Match


Four Bridgewater College volleyball players will be playing their final home game Wednesday when the Eagles host rival Eastern Mennonite in ODAC action. Erika Dirnagl, Tricia Davis, Mandy Hill and Parla Cline will play before the home fans in Nininger Hall for the final time.

An Art Education major from Stephens City, Va., Dirnagl has been a four-year letter winner and is a tri-captain this season. Erika leads the Eagles in kills and ranks second in the ODAC at 3.19.  She also ranks 10th in the league in hitting percentage at .250.  Erika is ranked third in the B.C. record book and 11th in the ODAC record book for career kills at 1,222  She also has accumulated 327 blocks and 204 service aces in her career.  Erika is a three-time First-Team All-ODAC selection and was named the conference's Rookie of the Year in 2006. 

A tri-captain, Davis is a four-year letter winner from New Kent, Va.  Tricia is Bridgewater College's all-time assist leader with 3,791 career assists in 387 games played.  This season, Tricia is third in the league in assists per game with 9.17.  She is also second on the team in digs at 226 and ranks sixth in the Bridgewater record books in career digs with 1,085.  Tricia ranks in the ODAC record book as well.  She ranks 14th for her single-match high of 60 assists set in 2008, single-season record of 1,365 assists set in 2007 and third in the ODAC career record of assists.  In 2007 Tricia was a Second-Team All-ODAC selection and was named to the 2008 Honorable-Mention All-ODAC team. Tricia is an Allied Health Science major.

Hill is a four-year letter winner from Uniontown, Md.   Mandy currently ranks fifth in blocks in the league this year at 0.88 blocks per game.  She has a total of 349 career blocks and 757 kills which ranks her 17th in the Bridgewater College record book.  She has seen action in 363 games throughout her career.  Mandy is a pre-Physical Therapist major.

Cline is a Sociology major from Bridgewater, Va.  A team captain, Parla exemplifies team work.  A true competitor, Parla works hard every day in practice and always puts the team first.
