IHSA Team Places Fourth At Tournament Of Champions

Bridgewater riders placed fourth at the Tournament of Champions,

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College Equestrians had a great first showing at the Preseason Tournament of Champions hosted by Randolph College. The IHSA team placed fourth overall out of a total of 15 teams against some stiff competition.

Michael Golinowski had a great IHSA debut earning first in Open Flat, second in Open over fences, and fifth in the High Medal.

Caroline Shipe had a great jump round in Intermediate over fences earning her a third place. Megan Heffernan had a great first showing in Intermediate on the flat against some tough competition. 

Georgia Osborne had a solid trip in Novice over fences getting her a third place. Laurin Watts had solid position in Novice on the flat earning her a sixth-place finish.

Hannah Foster had a solid showing in Advanced walk-trot-canter earning her sixth place. Kayla Parker swept the walk trot class earning a first place.

All of the riders worked well together and rode well under the guidance of head coach Jerry Schurink and new assistant coaches Brittany Veninger and Melanie Vest.
