Hawrysko Wins Oak Ridge Medal Finals

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Bridgewater College riders competed in the Randolph College Fall Festival horse show held at the Randolph College Riding Center this past weekend.

Samantha Hawrysko took top honors in the competitive Oak Ridge Medal Finals on her own Acadia Park. The pair earned a first-place finish in the last chance qualifier class on Saturday, then started out Sunday morning with a second-place finish in the gymnastic phase, The duo closed the day with a high score of 81 over fences, earning the Champion title.Sam also earned the season high point rider for overall accumulated points for the year in the Oak Ridge Medal.

Hawrysko is the first Bridgewater rider to win the Oak Ridge Medal since 2013 when Taylor Rose took home the honor.

Callie Isaacs rode BC's Diamond Duchess in the Randolph College Medal Finals and earned a solid seventh-place finish. The pair also competed in the Randolph College Hunter Derby and placed eighth out of nearly 30 entries. Callie and DD also competed in the 2'6" Open Equitation division, where they took home a fifth and third-place finish over fences.

Katie Dunnock rode BC's West Edition to a fourth and second-place finish over fences in the 2'6" Open Equitation division. The pair won the Reserve Champion title for the division and competed in the Adult Equitation on the Flat and the very competitive Randolph College Hunter Derby

Britney Linick rode BC's Alejandro to a sixth-place finish over fences as well as a sixth-place finish on the flat in the 2'6" Open Equitation division. The two also competed in the Adult Equitation on the Flat division and earned another sixth-place ribbon.

Laurin Watts rode Izzy Ammendolia's Wisewood Discotek to a fourth-place finish over fences in the 2'6" Open Equitation division, as well as a third-place finish on the flat.

Michaela Jeuick rode BC's Raphaela in the 2'6" Open Equitation division, earning a fourth-place finish on the flat. They also competed in the Adult Equitation on the Flat and brought home another fourth-place ribbon.

Hannah Foster rode BC's Endeavor in the 2'6" Open Equitation division, Randolph College Hunter Derby, and Adult Equitation on the Flat where the pair achieved a third-place finish.

Erika Ramirez rode BC's Up in Smoke in the 2'6" Open Equitation division and the Randolph College Hunter Derby.

Megan Heffernan rode BC's Arsenik in the 3' Open Equitation division where they earned a fifth-place finish over fences. The pair also competed in the Randolph College Hunter Derby, the Adult Equitation on the Flat, and the Adult Medal where they placed fifth.

Michael Golinowski rode Caroline Shipe's Judge Priest to a third-place finish over fences and a fifth-place finish on the flat in the 3' Open Equitation division.

Isabel Ammendolia rode her own Wisewood Discotek in the 3' Open Equitation division and the Adult Equitation on the Flat where the pair earned a solid first-place finish.
