WEYERS CAVE, Va. - This past Saturday, the Eagles hosted seven teams at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center in their second IHSA show of the spring semester.
Michael Golinowski started the day with a third-place finish in Open Flat before rising to the challenge and earning a first-place finish in Open Fences. Caroline Shipe competed individually in Open Fences and earned a fifth place finish.
In Intermediate Flat, captain Megan Heffernan earned a reserve-place finish for the team while Georgia Osborne placed sixth individually. Samantha Hawrysko placed fourth for the team in Intermediate Fences. Megan Heffernan and Georgia Osborne competed individually in Intermediate Fences earning a fourth and third place, respectively.
In Novice Flat, Isabel Ammendolia rode individually to a fourth-place finish while Laurin Watts rode to a solid third-place achievement for the team. Watts also turned in a solid ride to win her section of Novice Fences for team points while Isabel Ammendolia rode again to a first-place finish in her section of Novice Fences for individual results.
In Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter, Hannah Foster achieved a first-place finish for individual results while Jeannette Searles placed fourth for team points.
Kayla Parker competed in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter individually, earning a solid third place finish.
Jessica Goodman finished out the day just as strong as it began with a win for team points in the Walk/Trot division.
Randolph College won the show with 43 points, followed by the University of Virginia and Washington and Lee both tied for second with 37 points each. Bridgewater finished in a close third place with 35 points. Hollins placed fourth with 25 points, University of Lynchburg finished fifth with 24 points, while JMU rounded out the scores in sixth with 22 points.
