BRISTOL, Va. - Bridgewater College placed first Sunday in the IDA show hosted by Emory & Henry College. The Eagles finished with 19 points. Emory and Henry came in second with 14 points.
Virginia Tech placed third with 13 points, followed by the University of Virginia with eight points and Appalachian State University with two points.
The Eagles also closed in on the top spot in the overall regional standings. E&H still leads with 65 points, but its lead is down to a single point over the second-place Eagles with 64 points. Virginia Tech ranks third with 55 points. folowed by the University of Virginia with 43 points.
In First level, Natalie Ellis came in first place for the team with a score of 71.571%.
In Upper Training, Connor Poe came in seventh place for the team with a score of 58.276% and Megan Heffernan came in 6th place individually with a score of 60.089%.
In Lower Training, Jemma Constant finished first for the team with a score of 70.769%, Kasey Enright came in sixth-place individually with a score of 61.731% and Eli Hankins came in fifth-place individually with a score of 61.923%.
In Introductory, Isabel Ammendolia came in second place for the team with a score of 69.375%.
In Dressage Seat Equitation, Melissa Lempicki came in first place and Natalie Ellis came in fifth place for the First Level division.
