Eagles tied for second at Pine Needles

The Bridgewater College golf team was tied for second Monday after the first round of the Pine Needles Invitational.

BC placed three golfers in the Top 10 and finished with a team score of 301, three shots behind Greensboro College. The Eagles are tied for second with Belmont Abbey. Union is fourth at 306 and Guilford rounds out the top five with a score of 308. There are 11 teams in the field.

Nick Dean shot an opening round 73 and is tied for fourth place. Mike Redwood and David Wellman each shot 74 and are tied for seventh. Michael Hankins shot an 80 to round out the BC scoring.

The tournament concludes with Tuesday's second round.
