ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Bridgewater College couldn't put the ball in the back of the net Sunday afternoon as the Eagles dropped their second straight, losing to St. Mary's College, 2-0 on the final day of the Seahawks Classic.
Shots were nearly even with the Seahawks holding a 17-14 edge in total shots taken. The Eagles put nine shots on frame, but St. Mary's goalkeeper Patrick Paolini turned each shot away, finishing with nine saves. Bridgewater keeper Quentin Boric had eight saves in the contest.
The Seahawks took the lead midway through the first half on a goal by Brad Moore. St. Mary's added its second goal midway in the second half when Josh McRobie found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
Bridgewater is back in action Wednesday when the Eagles make the short trip to Harrisonburg to face Eastern Mennonite. Game time is 4:30 p.m. The game this season will not count as a conference contest.
