VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Bridgewater College ran its winning streak to three straight with a key 3-0 ODAC road victory Wednesday evening over Virginia Wesleyan. With the victory the Eagles stay perfect in the ODAC at 3-0 and improve to 6-3 overall.
Junior forward Thomas White continued his torrid scoring pace, finishing with two goals for the third consecutive game. The Eagles took the lead in the 31st minute when White scored off an assist from Eric Hogge for a 1-0 Bridgewater lead. White tallied again early in the second half to push the margin to 2-0. White now has nine goals and 22 points thus far this season.
The score moved to 3-0 in the 73rd minute on an own goal by the Marlins.
The shutout was the fourth this season for the Eagles and the third for goalkeeper Quentin Boric. Boric was solid in goal against the Marlins, finishing the contest with eight saves. Bridgewater has not allowed a goal during its current three-game winning streak.
The Eagles are back in action Saturday afternoon when they host the Guilford Quakers at 3:00 p.m.
