Eagles Pick Up Key Win At Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Bridgewater College men's soccer team picked up a big conference victory Saturday afternoon, defeating Guilford College, 2-1.

The Eagles scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute when Luke Stubbs found the back of the net off a pass from Thomas White, giving Bridgewater a 2-1 lead.

Bridgewater took the lead early in the first half when Luke Lowry scored off an assist from Sam Franklin in the 10th minute. The lead stood until the Quakers tied the score early in the second half on Kenny Nzekwe's goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Mark Collins earned the victory, finishing the day with three saves.

The Eagles, now 3-8-1 overall and 1-2 in the ODAC, returns to action Wednesday at Randolph-Macon.
