FERRUM, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team won consecutive dual meets for the first time, holding off Ferrum 117-91 on Friday evening.

Bridgewater jumped out to a lead as two freshmen each won a pair of individual events.

Kevin Whalen touched first in both the 200 free (2:10.51) and 50 free (23.45). Classmate Wyatt Seraphin was the winner in the 100 back (1:14.36) and 100 free (57.94).

Yet another freshman delivered two more event wins later in the program to help lock up the meet. Benjamin Dillon won the 200 back in 2:33.14, and then took the 200 IM with a time of 2:29.74.

Junior Raphael Stanek won the 500 free with a time of 6:51.65.

The Eagles won the meet despite not taking first in either relay event. Bridgewater was disqualified in the 400 medley relay when a swimmer took off early, and placed second in the 400 free relay.

Bridgewater (2-1, 1-1 ODAC) will host Emory & Henry next Friday night at 6 p.m.
