Eagles Set Five Program Records in Home Finale

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team won its final home meet of the season, 101-47 over Greensboro College on Saturday.

Bridgewater swam a 1500 meter free to begin preparing distance freestylers for ODACs next month, and Ben Williams recorded a school record time of 23:19.70, one of five marks set by BC on the day.

Austin Bacon won the 100 back (school record 1:05.28), and soon added a victory in the 50 free (26.62). He would go on to place second in the 100 IM with a record time of 1:04.90.

In between, Tito Alcazar claimed the 100 breaststroke in a school record 1:18.98.

Raphael Stanek won the 100 free in 1:02.99, and Williams took the 200 back in 3:22.14.

Benjamin Dillon (school record 5:16.33) and Alcazar (5:24.29) went 1-2 in the 400 freestyle. Dillon added a win in the 100 butterfly (1:11.84).

In the relays, Stanek, Dillon, Alcazar and Bacon swam 1:56.71 in the 200 free relay.

The meet opened with an exhibition mixed 200 medley relay, and Bacon and Stanek combined with female teammates Amanda Nesselrodt and Jenna Walmer to win in 2:07.05, with a late surge from Stanek on the anchor freestyle leg.

The Eagles are 5-2, 4-2 ODAC heading into their final dual meet of the season, next Saturday at Randolph-Macon.
