Men's Swimming Wins Two at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team went 2-1 on Saturday in a quad-meet at Greensboro College.

The Eagles defeated the hosts 96-62 and beat Warren Wilson 109-25. Bridgewater lost a close 90-83 decision to William Peace.

The Eagles set two school records- Ryan Cunningham in the 200 yard freestyle (1:57.02) and Dylan Shannon in the 200 yard backstroke (2:20.02).

The Eagles won the opening 200 medley relay, with Austin Bacon, Sean Cunningham, Benjamin Dillon and R. Cunningham combining to swim 1:53.20.

Bridgewater got two individual event wins from Bacon, who took the 500 free in 5:15.63 and tied for first place in the 100 free with a time of 53.77.

S. Cunningham, Tito Alcazar, Ben Williams and Shannon closed the meet with a second place finish in the 200 free relay (1:46.57).

Bridgewater is 4-7, 2-3 ODAC and will swim against Emory & Henry and Lees-McRae next weekend.
