Womack Sets School Record At VMI Winter Relays

LEXINGTON, Va.- Davonta Womack set a new school record in the 200m at day two of the VMI Winter Relays. The senior's 22.07 breaks his own record of 22.39 set last year.

Anthony Lovelace and Dirk Jones placed 23rd and 31st respectively in the 200m. Lovelace ran a 22.84 while Jones ran a 23.27. 

Jones also placed 14th in the long jump (6.28m/20'60") while Michael Lotts earned 15th in the shot put (12.93m/42'41"). Both finished were among the top Division III competitors at the meet. 

Chase Rosenthal and Rashon Davis turned in matching marks of 1.84m/6'.04" for an eighth place tie in the high jump.

Johnny Haizel-Cobbina finished 19th in the 800m (2:00.83) with Christopher Moore coming in right behind in 20th (2:01.53).

The men's track and field team returns to action next weekend at the UCS Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
