4x100 Highlights Eagle Performances Elon Invitational

ELON, N.C. - The 4x100 meter relay team of Diante Cannon, Dirk Jones, Alex Galloway, and Davonta Womack took first place at the Elon Invitational. The meet featured several Division I and Division II teams.

The 4x100 time of 41.78 is the new top time in the ODAC this season. 

Galloway impressed on the day, taking seventh in the 400 meter dash (49.87) and 11th in the 200 meter dash (22.37). Womack took eighth in the 200 meter dash (22.30). 

Christopher Atkins took 16th in the 400 meter dash (50.76) followed by James Mayo in 17th (50.86). 

Chase Rosenthal finished sixth in the 110 meter hurdles (15.33). Christopher Moore took ninth in the 400 meter hurdles (57.54) with Tyrone Warren finishing 20th (1:03.14). 

The Eagles had three competitors in 1,500 meter run. Kenny Sullivan led Bridgewater in 17th (4:23.77), with Joshua Wilt in 29th (4:31.79) and Shane Gibson in 32nd (4:37.26). 

Brady Barefoot placed 10th in the javelin (39.09m/128'3") and 18th in the long jump (5.62m/18'5.25"). Reginald Patterson III took 12th in the javelin (37.87m/124'3"). 

Michael Lotts finished ninth in the hammer throw (42.49m/139'5") and Griffin Simpson cleared 3.77m/12'4.25" in the pole vault for ninth place. 

The Eagles had several strong jump performances. Rosenthal finished fourth in the triple jump (13.41m/44'0") and Brandon Christian took fifth (13.26m/43'6"). Christian also placed sixth in the high jump (1.81m/5'11.25") followed by John Gieseler in seventh (1.76m/5'9.25"). 

Bridgewater now looks to the ODAC Championships next weekend at Randolph. The men are looking to repeat as outdoor champions.
