Lotts, Rosenthal Set School Records at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va.Michael Lotts and Chase Rosenthal set new Bridgewater records to lead the men's track and field team to a first place finish at the Wilkins Center Invitational. The Eagles scored 178 points to win the meet.

Lotts took first place and set a new school in the weight throw with a throw of 17.48m/ 57' 4¼". Rosenthal put his name in the record books in the 60 meter hurdle prelims with a time of 8.25. 

Davonta Womack took first place in the 60 meter dash (6.87) while Kyle Clanton took fourth (7.02) in his first meet as an Eagle. 

Vincent Leo placed second in the mile (4:40.17), followed by Alex Hulleman in fourth (4:44.73), Shane Gibson in seventh (4:48.49) and Kenny Sullivan in 11th (4:53.03). 

Four Eagles placed in the top ten in the 400 meters. Chris Atkins paced Bridgewater with a second place finish (51.38). Jashaad Santiago-Boatwright finished in third (51.68) with James Mayo taking fourth (52.40) and Dexter Walker placing seventh (54.02). Mayo took home another fourth place finish in the 200 meters (23.58). Michael Sheets was right behind Mayo in fifth place (23.18). Matthew Wonderly place seventh (24.18) with Peter Terzian finishing in 20th (25.84). 

AJ Martin won the 800 meters (2:01.71) while Lance Painter took fourth place in the event (2:04.59). Noah Howell, Eric Farrell and Andrew Broemmel represented the Eagles in the 3000 meters, with Howell in fifth (9:25.29), Farrell in ninth (9:54.34) and Broemmel in 11th (10:01.69). 

The Eagles entered two 4x400 meter relays. The team of Atkins, Diante Cannon, Sheets and Kaegan Avalos won the event (3:26.88) with the team of Wonderly, Painter, Walker and Martin placing third (3:34.78). 

Griffin Simpson placed third in the pole vault for the Eagles (3.75m/12' 3½"). 

Womack won the long jump (7.14m/23' 5¼"), followed by Rosenthal in second (6.44m/21' 1½") and Brady Barefoot in sixth (5.76m/18' 10¾"). Kyle Clanton (12.87m/42' 2¾") and Rashon Davis (12.45m/40' 10¼") competed in the triple jump, taking second and fourth respectively. Davis also won the high jump (1.95m/ 6' 4¾") with John Gieseler placing fourth (1.80m/5' 10¾") and Avalos placing fifth (1.80m/5' 10¾"). 

In addition to Lotts' record setting throw in the weight, he also placed fourth in the shot put (12.99m/42' 7½"). Wyatt Hall placed tenth in both the weight (11.59m/ 38' 0¼") and the shot put (11.15m/ 36' 7"). Jake McNutt took 12th in the weight (11.21m/36' 9½") and 13th in the shot put (10.86m/35' 7¾"). Reginald Patterson III placed 14th in the weight (10.05m/32' 11¾").

The Eagles return to action next weekend at the VMI Keydet Invitational.
