Hiegel Takes Third As Men's Cross Country Finishes 13th At Regionals

ROME, Ga. - The Bridgewater College men's cross country team finished 13th out of 33 teams at NCAA South-Southeast Regionals.

The Eagles earned 394 points. Rhodes took the meet with 71 points, while ODAC rivals Washington and Lee and Lynchburg took fourth and sixth, respectively.

Jamie Hiegel finished third overall in the 8K, running a 25:37.58. Hiegel secured his place in the national meet with his performance. He was six seconds off from the top spot.

Robert Theimer was the next Eagle to finish in 74th with a 27:49.59, while Johnny Haizel-Cobbina ran a 28:08.09 for 86th.

Kenneth Sullivan finished in 28:41.73 for 117th and John Denlinger competed in 28:44.06 for 121th. 

Noah Howell and Joshua Wilt placed 133th and 150th. Howell ran a 28:51.81, while Wilt completed the course in 29:05.23.

The 2018 cross country season is complete for all but Hiegel, who will travel to Wisconsin next week for the NCAA Nationals. Hiegel has already run the course once this season at the UW-Oshkosh AAE Invitational.
