FOREST, Va. - Bridgewater College softball players Katrina Martin and Stephanie Carroll have been named to the All-ODAC team by the league's coaches after leading the Eagles to the conference tournament for the first team since 2014.
Martin, a sophomore transfer, was named to the second team. She totaled 43 hits with a .394 average and finished fifth in the ODAC with 35 RBIs. The first baseman also had an on base percentage of .473 and slugging percentage of .697, good for the ninth and fifth best numbers in the conference. The Bridgewater native also contributed 258 putouts for another top ten ODAC mark as she ranked fifth.
Carroll, a third baseman from Amherst, Va., was named to the third team. It is the junior's second straight year on the all-conference team after being named to the first team last season. She had the most at-bats on the team with 115, culminating in 44 hits for a .383 average. She boasted an on base percentage of .486 and a slugging percentage of .487. Carroll was also seventh in the league with 82 assists.
Bridegewater finished 2019 with a 23-17 record. They exceeded their preseason poll pick of ninth place and finished the regular season in fifth.
