Eagles Move Up Two Spots at ODACs

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team moved up two spots in the team standings, after the second day of ODAC competition.

Bridgewater is now third with 261 points, 29 ahead of third place Emory & Henry.

BC set three school records, including in the 200 yard medley relay, where Kelley Hilliker, Emma Daw, Jordan Back and Laurel Glover clocked 1:51.61 for third place.

Hilliker set an individual record in the 400 IM, placing fourth in 4:50.02. Morgan Beauregard was 12th (5:22.94) and Jenna Walmer placed 13th in 5:24.91.

Daw set a school mark in the 100 breast, placing seventh in 1:08.41. Walmer was 13th again, in 1:13.54, and Olivia Heeb-Wade was 16th (1:15.50).

Hilliker added a fifth place finish in the 100 back, touching in 1:00.94. The B final of that event featured three Eagles- Emily Carr (10th, 1:03.72), Beauregard (15th, 1:08.55) and Jennifer Hess (16th, 1:11.18).

Hilliker also teamed with her sister Kaitlyn Hilliker, along with Rachael King and Glover, to place fourth in the 800 free relay in 8:29.45.

In the 100 fly, Daw placed fifth (1:00.25) and King finished sixth (1:00.50). Back gave BC three top-10 finishers by placing ninth in 1:02.29, and Genevieve Young was 12th (1:03.22).

Heeb-Wade (12th, 2:04.97) and Glover (13th, 2:06.36) placed consecutively in the 200 free.

In Saturday prelims, Jessy Wilson placed 21st in the 100 back with a time of 1:14.75. Emma Bashline was 24th in the 100 breast in 1:33.29 and Sydney Bright was 29th in 1:57.02.

Taylor Berard was 21st in the 200 free prelims with a time of 2:15.27, and Haley Saunders placed 24th in 2:22.72.

Competition wraps up tomorrow with the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay.
